SOUND THERAPY

What is Sound Therapy?

Sound Therapy uses sound, music and specialist instruments played in therapeutic ways, to improve health and wellbeing.

Sound Therapy works by altering brain waves, changing agitated wave patterns to exceptionally calm wave forms. As our brain waves slow down, we shift from an active state to a more relaxed, dreamlike state. In this state, our breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure decrease. This helps our immune system function more efficiently, reduces stress hormones, and triggers the release of feel-good chemicals in the brain.

Sound Therapy is thought to help with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • Fatigue

  • Chronic pain

  • Cognition and memory

  • Overall mental and spiritual well-being

My Approach to Sound Therapy

I believe deeply in the power of sound to transform and heal. My favourite part of being a Sound Therapist is creating beautiful, safe spaces where I can work with resonant frequencies and sound tools to heal and provide profound experiences.

In individual sound therapy sessions, I work with clients to create a profound and bespoke experience that works on exactly what that person needs and aims to treat any blockages they might be experiencing, whether mental, physical, spiritual/energetic, or emotional.

In group sound healing sessions, I love to discover new ways to use sound and instruments to create a sonic, meditative journey that promotes wellness and deep relaxation.

I use a variety of instruments including the Gong, Himalayan and Crystal bowls, chimes, bells and percussion instruments, shamanic drum, Shruti box and anything else I discover!

As a multi-passionate being, and as a Psychologist and Human Design reader, I love to integrate these interests with my sound sessions to creative immersive and holistic experiences.

Sound Therapy Offers

  • Individual/1:1 Sound Therapy

Within an individual/1:1 Sound Therapy session, I begin with an enquiry into the client’s current state (emotional, physical, mental, spiritual) and then create a tailored journey using different instruments to facilitate a release of any blockages and entry into an Altered State of Consciousness (similar to very deep relaxation or meditation) where healing and transformation can happen.

Clients are ‘brought back’ to the present with percussion instruments and use of the voice. We finish with a reflective debrief to discuss their experience.

It is recommended to have Sound Therapy over a number of sessions, as you would with any therapy to receive the benefits.

Research carried out by the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) has shown that this Sound Therapy methodology is 16% more relaxing than conventional relaxation music (1), 6% more relaxing than other treatments such as massage (1) and, on average, 64% more relaxing than other general relaxation methods (2).

    The Investment

Bespoke 1:1 Sound Healing session (1 hour 15 minutes): £85

  • Group Sound Therapy (Sound Bath)

In group Sound Therapy, or Sound Bath experiences, I love to create ever-evolving sonic and meditative journeys using a variety of instruments. In this way, I am able to take the group on a journey through a soundscape and respond to the energy of a room. This approach can, for some, lead to an experience of Altered State of Consciousness, and also promotes a meditative environment leading to positive wellness.

These Group Healing sessions have a profound impact on general wellbeing and many clients feel significant relaxation and reduced stressed after a session. It is the perfect way to unwind and clear your mind/body energetically in the day - especially when you live in a busy city like London!

I often have events around London and please feel free to contact me to enquire about private Group Sound Therapy sessions.

    The Investment

Private Group Sound Therapy (up to 4 people; 1 hour 15 minutes): £150.

Testimonials

“I was very fortunate to attend 4 sessions of sound healing.

First of all, I would like to note that each session was unique, depending on my requests and how I felt. Jessica is very attentive and empathic, she creates a great atmosphere (+ it's 100% cozy and warm) and gently guides you through the process. I felt cared for, comfortable and relaxed.

I found the sound healing itself to be very effective, it helped me through certain stressful situations, to release tension in my body. After each session I had wonderful dreams and felt very rested.

I would also like to mention Jessica's professional approach, questioning and talking before and after each session, her recommendations and very friendly attitude. I am very grateful for this experience and I sincerely recommend everyone to try it too.”

— Meerim

"My experience of sound healing with Jess was truly remarkable. While I've participated in group sound baths before, the 1:1 session with Jess exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I entered her therapy room, I was enveloped in a serene ambience created by soft candlelight and comforting surroundings, instantly transporting me from the hustle of London to a place of tranquillity.

Jess made me feel so comfortable and at ease during my initial assessment, guiding me gently into a state of relaxation through meditation. As she began playing the bowls, I melted into the warmth of the room and blankets and let the sound go through me; the way Jess played various sound-healing instruments put me into an incredible state of what felt like floating. I felt weightless and open, and my favourite part was the gong as the vibrations strongly resonated with me; the powerful sound went right through me, and I felt my stale energy blockages shift and give space for new energy to flow.

Making time every two weeks for these sound healing sessions has been transformative, allowing me to prioritize self-care and reconnect with my bodily sensations in a profound way. I'm incredibly grateful for Jess's expertise and nurturing presence throughout this journey, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone interested in exploring the benefits of sound healing.

Thank you, Jess, for facilitating such a deeply healing experience.”

"I was new to Sound Healing and my sessions with Jess came at the perfect timing. I can be too much in my head at times and find it hard sometimes to fully disconnect. I loved the enveloping sound of the Gong, silencing my mind completely, and really enjoyed experiencing other sounds as well as practices with the bowls on different parts of my body, to see where the tension areas were. The conversations prior to each session were also super helpful to see what parts of my body needed tending to for that day and I loved the space - super cosy and warm. I look forward to continuing to work with Jess and discover the benefits of this practice."
